The City of Albuquerque has partnered with community organizations to provide help for residents struggling with rent and utility payments. The program is for renters that live in Albuquerque and who are at or below 80% of area median income; have been directly or indirectly impacted by COVID; and who are at risk of homelessness or housing instability.
Emergency Rental & Utility Assistance Program – This is a program that can help renters with unpaid rent and utilities if they are at risk of eviction or utility shut-off.
Free Eviction Prevention Legal Clinics & Workshops – Partnership with local organizations and others, occasionally offer free or low-cost eviction prevention clinics, workshops, resources.
UpLIFT • Housing Stability
HAF offers housing grants to households who are income-eligible and experiencing financial hardship associated with the COVID-19 health crisis. Grants are provided to fund mortgage payments, taxes, and insurance up to $20,000 per household.
Providing Loan Reinstatement and Loss Mitigation Programs that will provide up to $20,000 per household to help eliminate past due payments. Also offering help paying delinquent property taxes or property insurance.
HELPNM is offering housing assistance to housholds who are experiencing immediate housing stabilization needs in ten counties: Hidalgo, Luna, Grant, Roosevelt, DeBaca, Guadalupe, Torrance, Lincoln, Quay and Curry counties
