National Day of Remembrance for Homicide Victims
In 2007, Congress designated September 25 as the National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims. The City of Albuquerque presents this opportunity to remember those lost to homicide, and honor their memories. This allows us to focus on the impact of murder on families and communities, and ways to support and serve survivors.

Freedom 4th
Enjoy fireworks and family fun at the city’s annual July 4th celebration at Balloon Fiesta Park. Food and drink vendors, activities for kids, and an entertainment schedule headlined by Michael Ray round out the evening. Check out the city’s website for more details.
Skip the traffic! Bike in to the festivities and use the free Bike Valet, available from 3 to 10 p.m. Take the North Diversion Channel Trail to the northeast side of the Balloon Museum, then make your way down to Balloon Fiesta Park to find the valet. There’s no better way to get there!

Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony
Honor those who gave their lives in service. The morning will feature a parade from Bullhead Park (1606 San Pedro SE) to the NM Veterans Memorial (100 Louisiana SE), followed by a musical program and ceremony at the Memorial.

World Refugee Day was established by the UN as an occasion to build empathy for the hardships of refugees and to recognize their resilience. At the City of Albuquerque’s World Refugee Day, enjoy multicultural pavilions, resources, vendors, a naturalization ceremony, performances, music, art, activities, free food, and more!
