NDI NM Annual Gala: Dream Big!
Join National Dance Institute of NM for its annual gala and fundraiser in the big tent! This year is the institute’s 30th birthday, so the event will be extra-special, with 500 school children from Albuquerque and the surrounding areas in a highly energetic musical theater performance.
Dream Big! will explore NDI students’ aspirations and dreams, dreamers who have changed the world, and dreams for our communities. The performance will be followed by a seated dinner, drinks, dancing, and live entertainment.

AfroMundo Festival Begins
In its first two years, the annual AfroMundo Festival has become a favorite. Be sure to check out the third annual festival, “Maroons, Rebels, Dreamers & Visionaries,” including live music, films, food tastings, and more!

AfroMundo Festival: Screening of Documentary “Sonic Forest”
The 30-minute documentary Sonic Forest features two Colombian communities risking their lives to preserve the earth, doing the global work of conservation like many Afro and Indigenous communities in the Americas.
The screening will be followed immediately by a Panel Discussion with land rights activists from right here in Albuquerque and across the Americas. Tickets are free and reservations required. Details and ticket link coming soon.

AfroMundo Festival: World Premiere of “Sterling’s Silver”
An enhanced Reader’s Production of a play by New Mexico resident Karen Jones Meadows, author of multiple anthologized and performed plays, and the recipient of a 2020 Story Protector Award. She has presented at the United Nations, UNESCO, International Women’s Economic Forum, and much more.
