The Rites of Passage celebration commemorate the triumphs of our Black/African American high school graduates! Come honor these accomplishments. Each graduating senior will be presented with regalia to be worn during their school-based ceremonies that symbolizes their identity and achievement.

Bond of Brothers Summer Camp
Foster community and belonging with other Black and biracial boys ages 13 to 18 in this intimate (10 campers!) summer day camp. There are just 10 spots, so sign up for Bond of Brothers now!
“Bond of Brothers is a summer camp designed by and for Black adolescent boys and masculine-identified youth in Santa Fe. This one-week program offers workshops in creativity, arts, writing, play, African drumming, rafting, and more. Mentored by Black male leaders, participants also engage in discussions on mental health awareness and redefine notions of Black masculinity. Bond of Brothers fosters friendships, personal growth, and a $250 stipend of appreciation!”

“Sista Circle is a transformative summer program tailored for Black teenage girls and gender expansive youth in Santa Fe. Rooted in the rich cultural heritage of our community, Sista Circle provides a nurturing environment where girls explore poetry, rafting, art, self-care, community and more. Led by Black women mentors, this program empowers participants to share their stories, and be in space with others who have shared experiences. Join us for a week of creativity, camaraderie, and personal growth, leaving with inner strength and a $250 stipend of appreciation!”

Herb Crosby Memorial Scholarship Applications Due
Calling young NM scholars! If you self-identify as Black and are graduating from a New Mexico high school with a GPA of 2.5 or higher, the Herb Crosby Scholarship team would like to hear from you. Scholarship value of $2500 for college expenses in New Mexico, or $4000 if attending an HBCU.

Focus on Youth Juried Student Photography Exhibit Reception
Focus on Youth includes nearly 100 photographs and short films, including silver print, digital, and special techniques in photography, art books, and digital film. This juried student exhibition of high school photographers and filmmakers is jointly sponsored by Albuquerque Public Schools Fine Arts and Albuquerque Museum. Reception from 1:00 to 3:00; awards given at 2:00. The exhibit will be viewable until June 1.
