    Roots Camp Harambee!

    Join us at the rollicking Harambee Celebration, where the students of Roots Academy share their talents and all they’ve learned! This end-of camp showcase features a live student performance, a showcase of their camp activities, an awards ceremony, and lunch – all to celebrate what they’ve accomplished together this summer. (Harambee is Swahili for “all pull together.”)

    RSVP by July 19th to let us know if you can attend!

    Schedule:

    Live Student Performance 11:30 am-12:30 pm
    Delicious Catered Lunch 12:30-1:50 pm

    Parking:
    You’ll find parking inside the First Unitarian Church lot at the corner of Carlisle and Comanche.

    You’ll also find parking by heading south on Carlisle and making the first right turn past the church (look for a sign that says Vanguard Behavioral Health.

    The Children’s Apothecary

    Free summer fun (and a little learning!) at Olive Tree Compounding Pharmacy in Rio Rancho. Kids will spend the morning as Compounding Pharmacists, and take home kid-friendly products they made themselves – flavored troches and healing hand cream.

     

    Space is VERY limited, and you must REGISTER HERE by July 12!

    FREE sports physicals to the first 125 children in need, provided by the Somos Unidos Foundation and Duke City Cares! To make it fun for the whole family, there will also be games and giveaways.

     

    Make sure your child is physically ready for the sport they love! And share this information with families you know, to make sure every child who wants to gets to play.

    Calling kids ages 9 through 12! Have a blast using the adorable Sphero programmable robot – plus your own ingenuity – to create a fun, interactive experience. Registration is required – sign up for the Sphero workshop here!

    We are so excited to offer our signature positive youth development program again in 2024! It’s going to be another great year at RSLA.

     

    This free three-week program features field trips, performances, STEM activities, and tons of opportunities for self-exploration, leadership development, and FUN! Plus, it includes before- and aftercare, breakfast, lunch, and snacks.

    Dreaming in Color: NM Black Student Alliance Academic Conference day 3

    OAAA and the New Mexico Black Student Alliance will host Dreaming in Color: Afrofuturism and the Future of Black Creativity from Thursday June 27th to Saturday June 29th. This conference will feature some of the brightest students and professionals in the STEAM fields – and it is FREE for all students and volunteers!
