Albuquerque Museum presents a virtual screening of the historical drama Selma directed by Ava DuVernay. This is part of their African American movies series in celebration of the “30 Americans” art exhibit.

In conjunction with the exhibition, 30 Americans, join us for a series featuring four vintage and contemporary films by African American directors.

Today’s featured film will be Selma directed by Ava DuVernay (2014). The film chronicles the tumultuous three-month period in 1965, when Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. led a dangerous campaign to secure equal voting rights in the face of violent opposition.
