For Isaiah Reading Empowerment

For Isaiah Reading Empowerment (FIRE) is a digital literacy and positive youth development program created to help middle school students build the technology skills, confidence, and critical thinking needed to succeed in today’s digital world.

Through hands-on learning and engaging projects, students explore topics such as digital citizenship, media literacy, online safety, and creative technology use. The program introduces young people to tools like tablets, educational apps, and multimedia platforms while strengthening foundational academic skills in reading, math, and problem-solving.

FIRE encourages students to think critically about the information they encounter online and to become responsible, respectful participants in digital spaces. Lessons combine guided instruction with interactive activities that promote collaboration, creativity, and curiosity.

The program is delivered in partnership with schools and community organizations, allowing it to operate both during the school day and in out-of-school settings. Trained facilitators guide students through structured lessons and creative projects designed to build confidence with technology while reinforcing safe and responsible digital behavior.

By expanding access to digital learning opportunities, FIRE helps young people develop the skills they need to thrive academically, express their ideas creatively, and navigate the online world with confidence.
