2023 Roots Summer Leadership Academy
2023’s Academy was a great success! Thank you to NMBLC staff, parents and caregivers, students, and our sponsors for all the work you put in this year.
Tayari means “I am prepared. I am ready.” in Swahili. Our students were prepared and ready to engage, learn, and collaborate with one another.

Roots Summer Leadership Academy is an out of school enrichment experience for young people ages 8-16.
Our program is a fun-filled and engaging program of S.T.E.A.M. learning featuring art, music, and dance! Join us as we create a connective, grounded, and transformative out of school learning experience for our youth.
Camp is free for youth ages 8 – 16 and runs from July 7th – July 26th, 2024 at First Unitarian Church Campus located at 3701 Carlisle NE.
Registration opens May 2024!
Camp Hours:
7:30 AM – 9 AM: BEFORE CARE
9 AM – 4 PM: CLASSES
4 PM – 5:30 PM: AFTER CARE
Camp Classes:
Dance, Theater in the Making, STEM, Music, Visual Art/Math, Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Assembly, Field Trips, Special Performances, Caregiver/ Guardian Workshops & Community Building
BREAKFAST, LUNCH, & SNACKS PROVIDED DAILY
TRANSPORTATION WILL BE PROVIDED FROM THE INTERNATIONAL DISTRICT TO CAMPUS
