    NewMexicoWomen.Org hosts this online series exploring healthy masculinities and parenting, Wednesdays in July and August. Register for the Learning Series here. You can attend one, some, or all sessions.

     

    Topics covered include accountability and relational repair, Queer/Trans affirming parenting, anti-violent parenting and affirmative consent, non-birthing partners in the birthing process, and labor distribution in parenting. Dates: July 10, 24, 31, August 14, 21. The series is inspired by the NM Healthy Masculinities Community of Practice, feedback from community members, and content in the NM Healthy Masculinities Toolkit.

    Event schedule:

    11 AM – 12 PM, Opening Ceremony
    The community is encouraged to wear white for this honoring, and to bring a picture, memento, or an offering to your ancestor. All items will be returned to the owner at the end of the ceremony.

    1:30 PM – 2 PM, Honoring Black Educational Heritage and Our Youth
    Celebrate the importance of education for our people, communities, culture, and heritage as we highlight our NM Black grads and their future endeavors.

    5 PM – 5:30 PM, NM Juneteenth History and Community Conversation
    Learn about our state’s Juneteenth history in this group conversation with community elders.
