Inaugural

PAMOJA 5K Race

The New Mexico Black Leadership Council (NMBLC) invites everyone in the International District–and all Burqueños–to our inaugural Pamoja 5k Race for Equity. “Pamoja” is Swahili for “better together,” which is how we work to impact the communities around us. The race runs through the heart of the most diverse neighborhood in the city and brings people together to focus on shared goals and community resiliency. The Race for Equity is free and will happen rain-or-shine.

Steps to Lasting Change

UpLift Initiative

The NMBLC’s UpLift Initiative is a community-focused campaign offering an online, one-stop portal for access to COVID-19 vaccine information, rental assistance, workforce information, and voter registration. UpLift also directly engages our International District neighbors and residents across the city by linking individuals and families with community organizations and civic bodies. We don’t define “community” as solely geographic; we are One Albuquerque and we are better together. Join us!
