Positive Youth Development

NMBLC educates and empowers young people, supporting the self-creation of New Mexico's leaders of tomorrow.

Positive youth development is a cornerstone of NMBLC’s mission to empower Black communities and foster long-term resilience across the state. By investing in culturally grounded, arts-based, and community-driven programs, NMBLC equips young people with the tools to lead, thrive, and challenge systemic inequities.

By centering youth in its programming, NMBLC not only nurtures the next generation of leaders but also strengthens the broader community. Through creative expression, mentorship, and advocacy, these initiatives ensure that young people are seen, heard, and equipped to shape a more equitable future for us all.
