How can we develop an opportunity for businesses, Faith-based ministries, police department and community leaders to have a council to discuss information, ideas, changes in the international district. Is there a monthly forum? How can we even get the homeless population to tell us what they need and what can help them to change their situations. Mental health crisis teams, healthcare workers and the youth and children in the community to speak out about our international district to begin to make a permanent change in the way we live and take care of each other.

    1. Thank you for your comment, Andrea. It underscores the importance of voting in the local election, particularly for city council, as District 6, which encompasses the International District, is one of the seats up for election.

NMBLC hosts biweekly UpLift meetings at its headquarters in the ID that strive to accomplish some of the things you’re talking about. Let us know if you’d be interested in attending one of those meetings and we’ll arrange an invitation.
