CABQ Days of Nonviolence
Beginning on Martin Luther King Day, The City of Albuquerque and Community partners announce the “30 Days of Nonviolence” commemorating the philosophies and teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
For 30 days, community members of Albuquerque with a focus on the Southeast part of the city, will be encouraged to sign the pledge of engaging in nonviolent practices. Community leaders will facilitate educational webinars and townhalls to address violence in the city (see the webinar schedule below). There will also be community service projects such as neighborhood clean-up and a community art mural.
The 30 Days of nonviolence will kick-off on Martin Luther King Day at 6pm with a virtual concert featuring local artists. Enjoy this concert on GOV TV, Facebook, and YouTube.
Educational webinars will be offered every Monday and Wednesday during the 30 days at 6:30 pm. Each seminar will feature principles of nonviolence and conflict resolution philosophy.
