    This free three-week program features field trips, performances, STEM activities, and tons of opportunities for self-exploration, leadership development, and FUN! Plus, it includes before- and aftercare, breakfast, lunch, and snacks.

    How Latina Voices Enrich the American Story

    Bookworks hosts an essential conversation about Latinas in literature with authors Cara Lopez Lee, Michelle Otero, and Briana Muñoz. How Latina Voices Enrich the American Story will be presented on Tuesday, June 11th, at 6pm.

    A portion of proceeds will benefit MANA de Albuquerque, which works to empower Latinas through education, leadership development, community service, and advocacy. Check the organization out HERE.

This conference will feature some of the brightest students and professionals in the STEAM fields – and it is FREE for all students and volunteers!

    School’s Out Skate Jam

    School’s out, wheels out! Time for the ultimate skate jam. Party to celebrate freedom from textbooks and the start of an epic summer!

     

    Skaters, come together and showcase your dedication to the sport, with a focus on skill development, camaraderie, and a shared passion for skateboarding. Participants can expect a day of respectful competition and mutual appreciation for the artistry of the sport.

    Juneteenth Freedom Flow: Yoga in the Park

    “Juneteenth Freedom Flow” is a special outdoor yoga class celebrating Juneteenth, designed to honor the spirit of freedom, resilience, and unity. The class is open to all levels, so whether you are a seasoned yogi or a beginner, please join in!

     

    The class will take place on the southeast side of Academy Hills Park, under the shade. Free, but donations encouraged. At the end of the session, refresh and rejuvenate with infused cold eye towels (available while supplies last).

    “I See My Light Shining” Opening Event

    Ellery Washington is a New York-based writer, originally from Albuquerque, who has returned to New Mexico to capture the memories and stories of Black Elders.

     

    The  regional launch event of this exciting rebuttal to the tri-cultural myth features oral testimonies along with photographs, letters, and more to memorialize and honor these African-American elders. See more HERE.
