ROOTS Summer Leadership Camp
We are so excited to offer our signature positive youth development program again in 2024! It’s going to be another great year at RSLA.
This free three-week program features field trips, performances, STEM activities, and tons of opportunities for self-exploration, leadership development, and FUN! Plus, it includes before- and aftercare, breakfast, lunch, and snacks.

Freedom 4th
Enjoy fireworks and family fun at the city’s annual July 4th celebration at Balloon Fiesta Park. Food and drink vendors, activities for kids, and an entertainment schedule headlined by Michael Ray round out the evening. Check out the city’s website for more details.
Skip the traffic! Bike in to the festivities and use the free Bike Valet, available from 3 to 10 p.m. Take the North Diversion Channel Trail to the northeast side of the Balloon Museum, then make your way down to Balloon Fiesta Park to find the valet. There’s no better way to get there!

AAPAC Kids’ Summer of Fun!
The African American Performing Arts Center Summer of Fun! RSVP online by May 29! “From interactive workshops exploring the wonders of science to captivating storytelling sessions that transport them to magical worlds, each day promises a new adventure.”

Pirate Party & Summer Reading Program Kickoff
Celebrate the start of 2024’s Summer Reading Program with a Pirate Party at the International District Library! Enjoy activity & craft stations, Pirate Picture Portraits, and a scavenger hunt. Sign up for your reading log and start earning prizes just by reading.
And this Summer Reading Program isn’t just for kids – all ages are welcome to participate. So put on your best pirate swagger and head on down!

First Annual B L O O M Fiesta
Join us for FUN at NMBLC’s first annual BLOOM fiesta!
Outside the building, we’ll have carnival fun for the kid in all of us – cotton candy, a bouncy house, tie-dye, a videogame bus, silent disco, and lots more!
The fun continues inside: eat finger food, meet the acting superintendent of APS, learn about the library’s kaleidoscope of free opportunities, and get to know the NMBLC and local caregivers like yourself.
