World Toilet Day

World Toilet Day was established to raise awareness: All humans need sanitation!

Billions worldwide lack proper facilities, risking deadly diseases like cholera. The World Health Organization estimates that unsafe water, sanitation, and hygiene kill 1,000 children under age 5 every day. Inadequate toilet facilities also lead girls who are menstruating to avoid school, worsening gender inequality.
