    FLAME Employability Skills Workshop

    Check out this series of innovative, free workshops hosted by Bernalillo County, designed to empower folks who may face challenges in finding a permanent job. Successful completion of the 20-hour employability workshop, which covers skills from building a personal brand to mastering job interviews, opens up new opportunities through the FLAME job rotation program.

     

    Workshops are space-limited and first come, first served. Register HERE to reserve your seat and receive location details.

     

    *FLAME was developed with the intention to serve those residents that either never got a first chance or need a second chance.

    This includes but is not limited to recently released inmates, those in rehabilitation, aging-out foster youth, disabled individuals, housing voucher clients, veterans, women recovering from domestic violence, those living in temporary housing, and other individuals wanting a new beginning or second chance.

  • River Cleanup Day

    River Cleanup Day

    Celebrate the National River Cleanup in the Bosque! Meet in the dirt parking lot on the north side of Central, just west of the river (map) to enjoy morning snacks – then head out to pick up trash along the shoreline and trails. There will be raffles and a prize for the WEIRDEST piece of trash!

     

    Wear sturdy footwear and bring work gloves, water, sunglasses, and sunscreen, and a hat if you’ve got one! Parking is very limited, so please carpool (or bike!) if you can.

    Join us for FUN at NMBLC’s first annual BLOOM fiesta!

    Outside the building, we’ll have carnival fun for the kid in all of us – cotton candy, a bouncy house, tie-dye, a videogame bus, silent disco, and lots more!

    The fun continues inside: eat finger food, meet the acting superintendent of APS, learn about the library’s kaleidoscope of free opportunities, and get to know the NMBLC and local caregivers like yourself.
